When Do You Need Crowns or Bridges?

The Crown & Bridge Procedure

Getting a crown or bridge typically involves two visits to our clinic:

1. First Visit (Preparation): The dentist will prepare the tooth (or teeth) by removing a small amount of enamel to make space for the crown or bridge. Impressions are taken and sent to a dental lab to create your custom restoration. A temporary crown or bridge will be placed to protect the prepared tooth.
2. Second Visit (Placement): Once your custom crown or bridge is ready, you'll return to our clinic. The temporary restoration is removed, and the new, permanent crown or bridge is fitted, adjusted for a perfect bite, and then permanently cemented into place.

Types of Materials

Crowns and bridges can be made from various materials, and we will help you choose the best one based on your needs and budget:

• Porcelain or Ceramic: Highly aesthetic, and a great choice for front teeth. They match your natural tooth color.
• Zirconia: Extremely durable and strong, offering a blend of strength and natural appearance.
• Porcelain-fused-to-Metal (PFM): Offers a strong, durable restoration with a natural look.
• Gold Alloys: Highly durable and biocompatible, often used for back teeth.
